Training
Drug driving awareness — the workplace course.
Half a day, on your site, delivered by a Drug Drive Aware trainer, anywhere in the UK.
Who it’s for
Drivers, and the managers responsible for them.
One cohort per session. The people who share a yard hear the same thing, in the same room, at the same time, and the manager who signs the attendance record has sat through it too.
It is built for the people the law actually catches: drivers who feel fine, pass a breathalyser, drive perfectly, and have never heard of the substance they can be convicted for.
One price per course. No cap on numbers — bring every driver on the shift.
What’s covered
Seven modules. All of them Tier 1.
Built from the same content library as the depot talk and the guides on this site. Every claim is sourced, and nothing that has not been reviewed appears.
Course Introduction
The founder’s own case, told by the man it happened to. A minor collision, a passed breathalyser, and a conviction for a substance he had never heard of.
The law
Section 5A of the Road Traffic Act is a limit offence, not an impairment offence. What that means, what BZE is, and why feeling fine is not a defence.
The swab is the accusation. The blood is the verdict.
What the roadside swab does, what the evidential blood sample does, and what a driver should do if he is ever tested.
The two clocks
Why a driver’s own judgement reads the wrong clock, and why nobody can honestly give him a number.
The real sentence
What a conviction actually costs, from the ban and the DG10 to the search result that outlives all of it, and what the adverts are selling.
The decision rule
A behavioural rule, not a timing rule, built on the fact that a licence is a wage.
Signposting and safeguarding
The confidential support numbers every attendee leaves with, handed to everyone so that taking a card identifies nobody.
Short self-checks sit between modules. There is no exam. The scientific content behind the course is held back until a named toxicologist has reviewed and signed it, and nothing from that section is taught.
What you leave with
Something for every attendee, and something for the file.
Wallet card, every attendee
The law in four lines and three confidential support numbers. It lives in a van door for years.
Manager one-pager
The talk on a page for the manager who has to answer questions after we have gone.
Attendance record for the training file
Date, site, trainer, headcount, signatures, manager countersign. It records attendance and nothing else: no observation field, no comment box, no flagged column.
Certificate of attendance
One per attendee, generated at the session: name, date, hours and modules, and a unique reference the holder can quote. Held by the person it names. No learner database, no public lookup. The same rules the online course runs on.
How it runs
One session, one date, on your site.
One four to five hour session, on your site, on one date. We travel to you, anywhere in the UK. Expenses charged at cost.
Where a shift pattern makes a single session impossible, it can be split across shifts by arrangement. Say so in the enquiry.
For the shifts and sites we do not reach, the Depot Toolbox Talk pack is the 15-minute version your own managers run.
Questions
Asked before every booking.
Is there an exam?
No. There are short self-checks between modules so people can see what they already knew and what they did not. Nothing is scored, nothing is recorded, and nobody fails.
Do you keep attendee data?
No. The attendance record you keep lists who attended and nothing else. Nothing anyone says in the room is recorded, reported or retained. The certificate is generated at the session and held by the person it names; there is no learner database and no public lookup.
Can we split it across shifts?
Yes, by arrangement. Tell us in the enquiry and we will plan it with you.
Do you cover the whole UK?
Yes. We travel to you. Expenses are charged at cost.
Half a day now, or a driver and a recruitment round later.
Tell us where you are and when your people are on site. We will come to you.
